On Tuesday the 2nd of October, Breed Reply and Newgate Communications hosted a landmark IoT Investor Event at Aviva’s Digital Garage in the heart of Hoxton, London to explore how the IoT market is growing and developing and to discuss the opportunities this is creating for investors, industry and early-stage IoT innovators.
Host Chris Middleton, Editor of Internet of Business set the context for the event and the scope of the opportunity for investors, innovators and industrial buyers.
Our own CEO, Emanuele Angelidis developed this theme, highlighting that the IoT revolution is being pioneered most strongly in B2B settings with technologies in Industry, Smart Cities and Health & Wellness leading the charge.
Matt Stamp, Partner at Accuity Advisors took a deeper dive into how the M&A landscape for IoT is developing and maturing to drive increasingly strong exits for IoT.
Delegates were invited to take a look at IoT in action, with presentations from Yasir Khokhar, the CEO of Breed Reply Portfolio company, Connecterra and Cees Jan Hollander, Global Farming Expertise Manager for Danone – offering both the innovator’s and the corporate buyer’s perspectives on how data from IoT, AI and actionable insight are driving advances in sustainable food production for the dairy industry.
Finally, Ben Luckett the Managing Director of Aviva Ventures offered insights into how IoT is driving change in the Insurance market, transforming business models, customer experience and turning the insurance proposition on its head to embrace prediction and prevention.
The event was rounded off with a lively panel debate and an opportunity for investors to meet companies that are innovating in the IoT space from amongst Breed Reply’s investment portfolio of 24 companies, built over the last 4 years.
