Xchange is an annual appointment organised by Reply to discuss how innovation and technologies are changing the world. Through the featured presentations and a dedicated demo area, we will explore the main trends of innovation in the area of digital transformation
Augmented Reality, Big Data, Cloud Computing and
Internet of Things.

The internet has redefined the way the world interacts, learns and does business. Previously it has consisted of only people, but now countless devices are using the network,
26bn by 2020 according to Gartner forecasts. This will create an ecosystem of new business opportunities, vastly greater than that the web has introduced, driving trillions of dollars in new economic value. We will analyse the IoT market, and the variety of proven and new business models, looking at key sectors where value creation looks most promising. Together with the start-ups funded by Reply’s advanced incubator
Breed Reply, we will review insights into their products, the needs of the markets they serve, varied approaches to competition, business models and strategies to grow and succeed.
The rise of social media, the cloud, smart phones, the IoT and other digital orientated areas has been phenomenal, and the latest next big thing is
wearables. However, as these combine together, we are starting to see the emergence of the
Digital Ecosystem. We will explore the drivers, the products, the services and the platforms that are going to play a major role in shaping this Digital landscape, and how these will impact the customers of our organisations.
Digital Technology dynamics are rapidly driving Information and Communication technologies together, leading towards a converged Networks & IT environment. Technologies such as Cloud, Big Data, Virtualisation and DevOps are prevalent in the IT world, enabling enterprises to accelerate innovation. Emerging networking technologies such as
SDN (Software-Defined Networking) and
NFV (Network Functions Virtualisation) are transforming communications networks and are the enablers driving the industry towards a converged IT and networking technology ecosystem, impacting both Communications Service Providers and Enterprises alike.
The emergence of new risk types is an ongoing challenge for financial services firms. This workshop looks at the theoretical and practical challenges of integrating new risk types into firms’ overall risk management, focussing on three examples at different levels of maturity:
Conduct Risk, Cyber Risk and
Environmental Risk. Conduct Risk is rapidly maturing as firms embed their approaches. Key issues that firms are continuing to face include how to predict
Conduct Risk, how to measure it and how to reflect a firm’s tolerance for Conduct Risk in its risk appetite. With the growing ubiquity of digital technologies, devices and media,
Cyber Risk has become a key concern, with firms and regulators increasingly worried about the constantly evolving challenges in this area.
Environmental Risk is moving up firms’ agendas as investors’ decisions are increasingly influenced by how well firms adhere to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environmental Social Governance (ESG) policies. To stay ahead of the game firms need to consider how Environmental Risk is reflected in their risk frameworks.
This area of the event is for trying out the technologies and witnessing the processes that create innovation from the bottom up, through direct experimentation with emerging technologies. Dedicated stands are available throughout Xchange to engage participants in hands-on sessions on subjects like:
