B2B platform for KAO, a leading provider of beauty care products worldwide

Challenge

KAO Germany, the world's leading provider of haircare and cosmetics products based in Darmstadt, had set itself the goal of creating a mobile-optimised B2B portal for the two salon-exclusive haircare brands of Goldwell and KMS California. The previous Goldwell portal was to be refreshed and redeveloped in order to further expand the salon business with its "salon-exclusive" claim, thus making it more attractive to the customer.

Solutions

The new KAO Salon marketing platform is accessible to all Goldwell and KMS California customers following a one-off registration process, and offers KAO Salon customers an overview of the Goldwell and KMS California brands for the first time. Here only the product groups relevant to the individual salon's range will be displayed. Hair salon owners can download information, materials, image data and product texts on current trends, collections and products, all of which is updated regularly. All the data are available for use in the salon and are optimised for all end devices. Salons benefit from the broad offering of communication documents and sources of inspiration: individual action plans and materials are available for customers to use. And all this is fully responsive for all end devices from desktop to smartphone.

The online shop within the KAO Salon Portal, which was designed by Triplesense Reply, gives customers the opportunity to stock up on over 1,000 products around the clock. The latest products are also available directly in the shop. Accessories and advertising material can now be ordered online for the first time. New feature: Salon owners can input their own salon name to design the poster and voucher code individually. In order to ensure the flawless use of the haircare products, supplementary products recommended by KAO are displayed with each product.

Summary

With the new B2B portal, the KAO Salon division is addressing customer needs and supporting customer communication actively with the provision of current advertising material that can be personalised. In the shop, products and accessories are available around the clock to support salon owners with marketing, so they can shape their businesses more successfully. In a quick survey, users rated the marketing support as very helpful, and cited the shop as the most important area. The KAO Salon Portal has been launched for Germany and Austria.
