Storm Reply and Autonomous Reply at CES 2026: drone-based inventory automation with DJI and NVIDIA on AWS
January 6, 2026
LAS VEGAS
Storm Reply and Autonomous Reply will take part in CES 2026 (Consumer Electronics Show), the annual technology event in Las Vegas where technology providers present solutions and use cases across consumer and industrial domains.
During the event, Storm Reply and Autonomous Reply will present in a session how autonomous drones, AI, and cloud technologies are being applied to automate inventory management in manufacturing logistics.
Presentation
Drone Innovation – Automate Inventory in Logistics
January 6th, 4:30 - 4:45 pm PST
Speaker:
Jens Boonen, Storm Reply
Peter Schiekofer, Autonomous Reply
The session “Drone Innovation – Automate Inventory in Logistics” will be held at the AWS Theater within the AWS Booth (#4099) at the Las Vegas Convention Center (West Hall) and will showcase a real-world use case implemented at a German car manufacturer’s production facility.
The solution enables the automated inventory management of more than 120 types of load carriers, a critical component of large-scale intralogistics operations. By combining autonomously operating drones, AI-based image analysis, 3D simulation, and cloud-native analytics deployed on AWS, the system provides near-real-time visibility into both the location and quantity of load carriers across the facility. To reliably distinguish between over 120 load carrier variants, the AI models are trained using extensive synthetic data generated through simulation, leveraging the NVIDIA technology stack. This approach improves recognition accuracy while supporting higher efficiency and higher-quality intralogistics data.
The solution is powered by the latest DJI drone hardware and operates fully autonomously, without the need for on-site pilots or manual analysis of flight data. Designed for scalability, the solution integrates with third-party systems such as ERP platforms, fitting into existing manufacturing IT landscapes.
