Business Reply supported Alcar Ruote with an integrated Oracle system to improve emission monitoring and ensure greater transparency.

Alcar Ruote, a company of the ALCAR Group, is a multinational company in the automotive sector, a global leader in the production of alloy and steel wheels. In the context of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategy and in response to growing regulatory demands, such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive of the European Union, Alcar Ruote has embarked on a path of digital transformation with the aim of improving the monitoring of CO₂ emissions. The project aims to optimize the quality and collection of environmental data, reduce the costs related to compliance and ensure greater transparency to customers and stakeholders.
To meet this need, Alcar Ruote relied on Business Reply to implement, for the first time globally, the new Oracle Sustainability solution integrated with Oracle ERP Cloud, which involved the company's Finance, Procurement, Sales and Manufacturing departments. The implementation makes it possible to generate sustainability activities, divided according to the categories of scopes 1, 2 and 3, which classify greenhouse gas emissions, as defined by international protocols. The solution makes it possible to automatically calculate emissions through a detailed mapping of emission factors. In addition, thanks to the collected and classified data, together with the use of Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence, it was possible to perform advanced analysis and reporting, crucial for monitoring emissions, drafting the Sustainability Report and reporting required by the parent company and other stakeholders.
A distinctive aspect of the project was the configuration of the invoice classification rules, which were developed by analyzing the finished product bill of materials and using specific criteria such as items, suppliers and accounting accounts. This allowed the system to automatically generate sustainability activities directly from invoices, optimizing efficiency in collecting emission data.
For the implementation of the solution, Business Reply adopted a 'Product Driven' approach, which made it possible to acquire in-depth knowledge of the Alcar context through interactive workshops. This has made it possible to progressively adapt the product configuration to functional and process needs. The strategy also facilitated the identification and timely management of gaps that emerged during the analysis, promoting the adoption of standard Oracle functionality and thus accelerating implementation.
