SMI Group wins the Oracle Excellence Award 2023 in the “Innovating with Data” category with the support of Technology Reply.

SMI Group, one of the world's leading producers of high-tech solutions for bottling and packaging, capable of producing up to 50,000 bottles per hour, has won the Oracle Excellence Award 2023 in the "Innovating with Data" category, with the support of Technology Reply, the Reply Group company specializing in designing and implementing Oracle-based technology solutions.

The recognition was achieved thanks to SmyIoT, an innovative data platform entirely based on Oracle Cloud services, which leverages the power of real-time data to create a digital replica of the machines. The platform, designed and developed by SMITEC and Technology Reply, provides an immediate view of the performance and health status of the machines, enabling the prediction of equipment failures and the implementation of preventive measures to avoid downtime.

Technology Reply was chosen by SMI Group due to its expertise and skills in data analysis, particularly in the Data Lake house. Technology Reply supported SMI Group in defining business requirements and technical aspects, and proposed Oracle as the cloud provider that best met all the requirements, thanks to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure services, with a particular focus on the evolution of the platform itself.

The new data platform is characterized by the ability to integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple sources, the capability to handle large volumes of IoT data thanks to its scalability, and the presence of monitoring and tracking tools to optimize machine efficiency. A near-real-time business intelligence layer has also been created to enable analytical processing capabilities, along with a user-friendly dashboard for analyzing and visualizing IoT data.
