Roboverse Reply wins the XR Industry Activation Award 2025
Roboverse Reply, the Reply Group company specialising in integration scenarios involving robotics and reality capture with mixed reality, has been honoured with the XR Industry Activation Award (XRIAA) at the nextReality.festival 2025 in Hamburg. The award recognises pioneering achievements of companies from industry, mid-sized enterprises, and the tech sector that are not just experimenting with virtual, augmented and mixed reality, but have already integrated it strategically and sustainably into their business processes, products, or services.
Roboverse Reply impressed the jury with its approach that combines robotics and virtual reality to create an immersive control solution. Using the Meta Quest 3 VR headset, Boston Dynamics’ four-legged Spot robot can be remotely operated in high-risk environments where humans cannot work safely due to radiation, heat or the structural instability of buildings and terrain. This combination of XR technology and robotics enables precise teleoperation, enhances workplace safety, and opens new opportunities for remote access to industrial facilities.
Filippo Rizzante, CTO of Reply, commented: "With our approach, we are demonstrating how immersive technologies are transforming everyday industrial operations. By combining mixed reality, artificial intelligence, and robotics, we create solutions that reduce human workload, increase process efficiency, and enable new forms of collaboration between humans and machines".
Unlike the other competition categories of the nextReality.Contest, the Industry Activation Award does not have a single champion. Instead, several particularly effective projects are curated and highlighted to encourage other companies to invest in similar XR initiatives. Alongside Roboverse Reply, this year’s award recognized Meta, Porsche, Henkel, Lufthansa, Cupra and Ergo Group as well. Together, they represent the diversity and innovative strength of an industry that increasingly views immersive technologies as key to economic, creative, and social development.
The contest is a major XR award that supports progress in immersive media and future technologies. Since 2017, it has showcased exceptional augmented, mixed, and virtual reality projects. Its “International Production” category has invited global submissions. An independent interdisciplinary jury reviews entries and annually honors the most groundbreaking XR concepts.
By winning the XR Industry Activation Award 2025, Roboverse Reply once again underlines its leading role in the implementation of intelligent, immersive robotics solutions for industry, research and security. Following its successes at EnRicH 2025, the AIRA Challenge and ELROB, the company continues its success story and demonstrates the vast potential of XR technologies and robotics for industrial applications.
