Reply at the Cybersecurity@CEPS Summit 2025

On December 2, 2025, Giorgio Baresi, Partner at Reply, will speak at the Cybersecurity@CEPS Summit 2025 in Brussels, a key event exploring how the European Union can strengthen its cybersecurity posture in an increasingly unstable geopolitical and economic landscape.
Giorgio will contribute to Session V (16:00–17:00), offering a perspective on Human-Centric Defence and the critical role of design in enhancing Europe’s cyber resilience. Rather than focusing solely on technology, his intervention will highlight how people perceive, decide and act under uncertainty, and how well-designed systems can strengthen decision-making, situational awareness, collaboration and trust across complex operational environments.
Drawing on more than two decades of experience in human-centred design for mission-critical systems, Giorgio will explore key themes such as cognitive load management, human-AI interaction, decision superiority through better data visualisation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration in defence and security contexts. His contribution will underline why designing for the human at the core of the system is essential to achieving effective, reliable and resilient cyber capabilities.
