A structured model for the adoption of Generative AI at Danieli
Cluster Reply collaborated with Danieli to centralise and standardise the management of Generative AI use cases.
)
The challenge
Accelerate the adoption of Generative AI, significantly reducing integration and development times for new applications
Scenario
The need for a centralised platform
Danieli, a global leader in the design, production, and installation of advanced plants for the steel industry and the non-ferrous metals sector, in the field of industrial automation and steel production, has recognized the importance of unifying and expanding the use of Generative AI within the company, addressing both current and future needs.
Danieli's need was to manage a series of complex conversational agents to provide assistance on contracts, technical regulations, and corporate documentation. To enhance these tools and promote their evolution, Danieli chose to develop a centralised platform, capable of ensuring scalability, providing through shared development standards, and optimising time while also offering the necessary flexibility to quickly adapt to new scenarios and operational needs.
Solution
Manage and develop GenAI use cases with “GenAI Hub”
To tackle these challenges, Cluster Reply has created for Danieli "GenAI Hub", a solution based on two main components: the Core Platform, a platform that centralises the management and monitoring of use cases, providing a single access point for developers and monitoring, and the Template, standardised code libraries, which simplify and accelerate the development of new use cases. This solution accelerates the adoption of AI within the company, reducing the time needed to integrate and develop new applications while ensuring compliance with common guidelines.

HOW WE DID IT
A modular solution and standardised code libraries
The platform is built using cloud technology Microsoft Azure, is based on microservices and modules dedicated to specific functions, such as: a module to make language models accessible, an AI guard-railing module to provide safety barriers to filter harmful content, a control module to centrally manage the models used, a monitoring system for observability, and an auditing module to archive all conversations and all inputs given to the language models.
All these components are developed through APIs and managed through a central API Management component.
Standardised code libraries have also been created to manage functionalities such as document ingestion, processing and indexing, as well as orchestrating use cases, managing the history of past chats and user feedback, and integrating with Microsoft Teams. These libraries, acting as templates, easily enable the activation of new use cases with single-agent and multi-agent systems by users.
