29 November 2021, 10:00 - 10:45 CEST Session: A universal cloud API with Crossplane
Development teams and their applications require services like databases, caches, or other advanced managed services.
Providing these services in a secure and reliable way is essential for application teams to deliver business value. In the worst case, this needs to be implemented for multiple cloud platforms. Major enterprises build their own custom portals to solve this request.
What if there was a universal cloud API? Crossplane, a CNCF sandbox project, extends the Kubernetes API to manage and compose infrastructure from CSPs. It composes these granular resources into
higher level abstractions that can be versioned, managed, deployed, and consumed, using your favorite tools and existing processes you’ve already integrated with your clusters. To secure the data access and resource provisioning, the Crossplane community achieved
a least privilege provisioning for the cloud infrastructure and application-specific resources. This enables developer
self-service without compromising any secure hosting requirements.
