A key aspect of SAP's vision of the Intelligent Enterprise is to deliver personal, trusted, and connected customer experiences. Digital Customer Experience (CX) solutions are therefore among the most important extensions that SAP itself offers to customers. They enable the creation of an environment with a clean core application to connect horizontal and vertical functions via APIs or the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP). SAP Customer Experience (CX) includes cloud solutions for marketing, e-commerce, sales, service and customer data, and delivers real-time interactions with intelligent technologies such as machine learning.
SAP has worked over the past year to integrate these solutions with its SAP One Domain Model, a unified domain model for business objects distributed throughout different SAP applications, enabling those systems to speak the same language during data exchange. SAP CX enables the design of hyper-personalised customer experiences across the entire customer journey through a unified view of the customer - building on a consolidated customer data set across the cloud portfolios and the SAP S/4HANA suite - the ability to predict, anticipate and respond in real time, and the implementation of an end-to-end experience by connecting customer demand and supply chain.

SAP S/4HANA migrations are driving growth in the SAP services market. The challenge for SAP customers will be to handle the plethora of upcoming SAP S/4HANA migrations in the coming years, given that, according to the PAC CxO Survey, less than 10% of companies have already completed their migration. The main bottleneck in the foreseeable future will be skilled resources. The situation is likely to worsen as 2027 approaches, when SAP will discontinue regular maintenance for older ERP versions.
All new SAP solutions and platforms are cloud-based or offer at least the option to be used in the cloud. Cloud computing is becoming relevant for core ERP as well. A growing number of companies start using public cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure or Amazon Web Services to host SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA solutions.
