Case Study

Cloud and low-code for the connected insurance ecosystem

Generali Jeniot appointed Cluster Reply to deliver the first unified platform available on the Italian market for the management of telematic services linked to insurance products.

The challenge

Aggregate information from multiple sources and guarantee data quality for the management of telematic policy.

The context

Generali Jeniot: IoT and connected insurance for the Generali Italia Group

Generali Jeniot is the Generali Italia Group company focused on the development of innovative services related to the Internet of Things and connected insurance, providing  technological solutions that enrich the Group’s insurance offer. Generali Jeniot’s initial objective was to acquire a platform capable of integrating data from internal & external sources and carrying out comparative analyses to certify its quality and consistency. This approach uniquely associates processed data with individual end users, verifying the correlation with the user’s actual contractual position (policies subscribed, active policies and cost forecast analysis).

The solution

Insurance Workflow Manager: an integrated, cloud-native platform

Cluster Reply, thanks to its extensive experience and expertise in Microsoft technologies, designed and implemented Insurance Workflow Manager. It is the first cloud-native connected insurance platform available on the Italian market, aimed at centralising data management and automating the various management phases of telematic policies and related services in relation to the motor, home and pet insurance products.

The platform provides a solid foundation of integration between all the connected insurance systems, capturing and directing information from various sources such as claims portfolios, IoT platforms, CRMs, mobile apps and more. From this centralised data system, it is possible to automate the process of managing telematic policies in relation to each specific end user.

Data analysis support

Insurance Workflow Manager provides full support to the insurance processes of the companies it serves. It supports data analysis with the help of monitoring reports & dashboards. It also implements the list of processing rules for determining the status of policies. Thanks to advanced consistency and data quality control algorithms, the platform allows prompt intervention to manage misalignments and inconsistencies that occur through the integration of different systems managed by different entities.

The Insurance Workflow Manager created with Cluster Reply has transformed our business, allowing us to become more efficient, more agile and more responsive. Generali Jeniot now has a strategic, flexible and scalable platform at its disposal, with which we can develop new business opportunities. At the same time, our customers are served better and with shorter turnaround times

How we did it

Low-code/no-code and cloud for data integration and data exchange

The solution was implemented using the serverless architectural paradigm: the FaaS (Function-as-a-Service) model was used to facilitate the creation of a highly reliable and scalable architecture. To create a flexible, agile and easy-to-maintain application solution, two Microsoft platforms were used: Power Platform and Azure.

Microsoft Power Platform

(one of the reference platforms for LowCode/NoCode) enables the implementation of automated workflow management and data quality monitoring & management. It also allows the creation of insurance guidelines for the integrated management of the IoT platform.

Microsoft Azure

is the leading platform in the Cloud solutions market. It enables the creation of integration and data exchange services.

The adoption of these technologies ensures compliance with all performance and security requirements in relation to connected insurance platforms.
