THE CHALLENGE

Innovating airport surveillance activities through autonomous robots

SCENARIO

Embracing innovation to consolidate safety and quality

At Fiumicino, in the new boarding area A, Spot showed off the patrol activities it can carry out in the airport's technical areas. Thanks to Artificial Intelligence algorithms and software developed by Reply, Certified Product Partner of Boston Dynamics for the robot, Spot can be used in a wide variety of situations: from the analysis of hazardous materials, to the inspection of suspicious luggage and the identification of risky situations. This reduces risks for human operators and provides even better service to airport users. Spot moves with agility, allowing inspection and data acquisition to be automated in a safe and accurate manner. It can be equipped on board with on-board sensors that collect video, photos, environmental data and point clouds for 3D rendering of the surrounding environment.
