"Yammer is a great tool for internal communications."
Awesome, but it’s so much more. For many of my clients, Yammer is a way of life. It’s adopted and owned by internal communications teams (or similar) and yields great success.
Most seasoned clients have seen results in the 'left' hand:
All good stuff, and we’re happy to report years of evidence and stories of how Yammer boosts employee morale - we often get briefs from clients and partners asking how they can get more groups, likes and comments for vanity analytics.
How do I get it right
In our work, Yammer is so much more. It’s a simplistic way to replace existing processes and tools. We also practice what we preach – at WM Reply, we no longer have immensely complicated scheduling systems, we have #Capacity.
The simple #Capacity tag saves our team a lot of hassle and is the digital equivalent of a friendly face putting their hand up in the air and volunteering to help.
We use Yammer to transform our business and our clients. To give another example Diageo decommissioned nearly 50% of their SharePoint team sites to be replaced by collaborative and project-based Yammer Groups. Centrica ingeniously use Yammer to enable their front-line electricians and plumbers to quickly search for information shared by peers.
Another client of mine uses Yammer to create a digital workplace for it's global employee base, allowing employees, for the first time, to digitally collaborate across global projects. What's more, with a real focus on Yammer training right across the organisation, our client was able to target the CEO and all staff to support engagement. Now they have teams across the business, and across the globe, collaborating using Yammer and documents seamlessly.
Think about the processes, time, effort and license costs to be saved by cutting out-dated bulky tools.
Think about the project teams who can collaborate without onerous governance and ugly infrastructure.
Think about the connections that can be made when your employees become a connected network of knowledge that shares openly around organisational goals.
Think about the honest and instant feedback you can get from your people and start enjoying the benefits of a great collaboration platform.
Think about it...
