Scenario

A global furniture retailer recognised that it needed to fundamentally transform its business in response to new shopping habits. In 2019 they invested almost 2.8 billion euros to pivot their business to embrace digital opportunities.

They required a new approach to planning and delivery that accommodated a shift from a traditional five-year plan to responsive three-year plan with investment cycles every 4 months. This means that they can innovate and deliver consumer products rapidly from a modernized technology platform and a cultural alignment to shared goals.

Solution

Retail Reply supported this rapid transformation programme over a two year period. We established a Capability Based Roadmap Planning approach to prioritise investments and foster cross-functional alignment.

Retail Reply introduced a new approach to goal setting, based on Objectives & Key Results.

We recognised the importance of tools to help visualise the goals and monitor progress. Retail Reply operationalised agile toolsets such as Jira and Aha! for roadmap teams and product managers to enhance digital planning and delivery capability.
