Sainsbury’s Argos were looking to align the internal architectures cross group, so that they can move towards a technology stack.
Retail Reply was engaged as lead architects to design the Target Architecture according to capability and to assist with this harmonization of architecture, specifically in relation to Last Mile Delivery and Planning.
Retail Reply's solution included an analysis of the 'As Is' application landscape, key stakeholders, and the capabilities of each application for both companies. It also involved conducting stakeholder interviews and independent research to understand future demands. Additionally, the solution entailed a logical regrouping of capabilities into functions to support the Last Mile Delivery and Planning area. Finally, the architecture was redesigned to support these capabilities and meet future demands.
A Target Architecture for Sainsbury’s, Argos and the Group, based on microservice principles for the Last Mile Delivery and Planning area. The primary deliverable was the Group Target Architecture, which was supported by a comprehensive capability map for the ‘As Is’ and Target Architecture for each company respectively.
