Release of VeriLite 2.0

Verilite 2.0

Since the Falsified Medicine Directive (FMD) in the EU came into force on 9th February 2019, we have helped hundreds of wholesalers, pharmacists and doctors to meet the stringent requirements for verifying medicines using our simple VeriLite solution.

We have released VeriLite 2.0, the first major update of our cloud-based solution. This release introduces several significant features that will provide a better experience, more controls and enhanced reporting to boost users ability to detect and manage fake medicines.

1. Enhanced Reporting Capability:

We’ve improved VeriLite to give you better access to reports and improved controls for reporting:

  • New Search capability: perform focused searches using Pack ID, UPRC & Transaction IDs for finding previously performed pack requests.
  • Historical Reports: view historic data in the new history section, along with improved filter capabilities to focus on alerts.
  • Export Report: export your current query as a CSV file to import the data into a spreadsheet or some other application.

2. Eliminating Alerts through advanced Scanner Support:

VeriLite 2.0 implements Europe’s most advanced protection against ‘false-positive’ alerts in the system. Specifically, we have found solutions to the issues caused by incompatible scanner and computer configurations and thereby reducing the number of associated alerts across the system. VeriLite 2.0 supports all FMD unique identifiers including German PPNs and ISO/IEC 15434 Format 05 barcodes. We’ve minimised the impact of common manufacturing barcode errors and improved how we handle National Numbers (NHRNs). We’ve also enhanced the calibration features to improve scanner interoperability and significantly reduced the need to re-configure barcode scanners.

3. Connectivity Improvements:

We’ve improved your experience when connectivity is lost. Our customers sometimes report intermittent and short-lived problems that are beyond VeriLite’s control. VeriLite informs you if the problem is with the National System or with the VeriLite server and handles automatic reconnection with far less disruption to the end-user. If the loss of connectivity is brief, you don’t have to refresh the page to reconnect and you are not forced to re-authenticate.

4. Two Factor Authentication Control

Some VeriLite customers told us they do not consider two-factor authentication to be necessary and was adding extra overheads in logging into the system. You can now enable and disable two-factor authentication on VeriLite itself without having to contact the help desk.

5. User Interface Enhancements

Although we’ve kept the familiar user interface, we’ve improved it to provide greater consistency and to make certain tasks easier for you to perform. These improvements include:

  • Select Location: We’ve removed the ‘Select Location’ page but kept the functionality. Now, you just click an icon next to the displayed location and select a location from a popup box.
  • Default Location: We now always select your default location when you log in, rather than the last one you were logged in at.
  • Locations & Users setup: We’ve merged the administration pages for managing users and locations into a single tabbed page.
