    In response to challenges faced by our client, a prominent multinational telecommunications company, GoReply successfully implemented a transformative solution. The project aimed at democratising application development and improving the reliability of critical business applications. Leveraging Google Cloud Platform, the implemented self-service platform streamlined the development lifecycle, significantly reducing lead time for changes and enhancing deployment frequency.

    CHALLENGE

    Prior to the collaboration, the client faced significant challenges in manual app deployment on on-prem servers due to limited cloud environment access. The absence of automated build and deploy processes, coupled with the lack of CI/CD tools, led to prolonged lead times for changes and infrequent deployment. The absence of robust logging and monitoring mechanisms further increased downtime, affecting time to restore.

    SOLUTION

    GoReply implemented a self-service platform leveraging Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Cloud Build for automated build, test, and deploy processes. The incorporation of Artifact Registry and Container Registry facilitated efficient management of build artifacts and container images. Monitoring and logging were addressed through Google Operations Suite, including application performance monitoring. Additional tools such as Anthos Service Mesh, Cloud Armour, and Global Load Balancer (GLB) were deployed to bolster security and reliability.

    RESULTS AND VALUE-ADDED

    The introduced solution democratised application development, significantly improving the delivery and reliability of critical business applications. The implementation of automated CI/CD processes using Cloud Build substantially reduced lead time for changes and deployment frequency. Modern deployment practices like blue-green and canary deployments contributed to a noteworthy decrease in change failure percentage. The results have been impactful, empowering the client to effectively respond to dynamic business demands.
