Yard management

RFID

The solution for the management and control of a wide range of RFID-based devices for tag reading and writing.

FOCUS ON: Warehouse management, Yard management,
RFID (pdf)

Faster and better integrated logistic flows are called for by the new production and distribution models: these are difficult to manage and control using traditional methods and tools.

RFID-based technology offers many advantages compared to bar-code and other identification methods: reading does not require direct or visual contact and can be carried out on several tags at once.

It is efficient and trouble-free over long periods even in dusty and dirty environments. It contains more data than a bar-code and can be rewritten and updated with new information.

Also, bar-codes identify product batch and not the individual item, while RFID tags contain a unique and unambiguous serial number that identifies every product produced in the world.

Automatic identification by RFID is an important step forward for various sectors in the supply chain, from purchasing and distribution of logistic services to the manufacturing industries. RFID is highly valued for its potential application of a general purpose technology that is highly pervasive, allowing all types of objects and products, and all their relative information, to be "put on the network".

The availability of an applications framework for the management of RFID allows for a further step forward: the combination of new wireless and mobile technologies in real-time management of the supply chain. This makes it possible to share and use RFID tag information on products, pallets or containers, in real-time.

Click Reply™ RFID Layer manages and controls a wide range of devices that read tags based on RFID technology.

The solution architecture, entirely geared towards services and based on open standards, allows integration with both ERP systems and SCE and MES systems.

Click Reply™ RFID Layer is based on 4 components:

Event Handler

SIt is responsible for managing, collecting and dispatching of events. It is used to define events, sensing and forwarding rules, the activation of the task sequence and to apply filters such as signal cancellations, transcoding and format conversions.

Task Management

It covers:

  • the definition of the tasks, the sequence of elementary actions such as tag reading, or activation of an external function
  • workflow control, exceptions management
  • the collection and distribution of data, carrying out transactions on external systems

Monitoring

It allows you to:

  • monitor and manage the exceptions and warning alerts
  • define the monitors for viewing the logical flow to which the warning alerts are being forwarded
  • manage the user interaction
  • publish aggregate data through customized queries

Field Interface

Manages the tag readers, even of different types, and is responsible for data cleaning data, removing any noise.
