Focus On

Food & Beverage

Tracking and traceability are just two of the essential characteristics of the sector

FOCUS ON: Food & Beverage,

The Grocery market in Italy is particularly complex and segmented, characterised by large scale movements of short shelf-life products. The wide range of substitute items and poor customer product loyalty, particularly towards large scale retail products, reduce margins and make stock shortages critical.

Warehousing and distribution of fast moving products must also respond to the increasing demand for batch traceability and product quality security. Logistics, whether for companies dealing with industry operators or for those using it for internal management, must be supported by effective information systems.

Click Reply™ WM responds to industry needs with:

  • Rapid and efficient dispatch of orders to respond to dynamic consumption demand
  • Batch traceability, quality control, management of expiry dates and stock rotation
  • Management flexibility to respond to changing needs of large scale retail trade
  • Integration between the company’s and the distributor’s information systems, which are increasingly interconnected in their approach to services and not just where data is concerned.

Click Reply™ WM for Grocery & Food manages processes as requested by the Business line:

  • Incoming weight check
  • Allocation rules related to physical item details and item accounting status (sampling, rejected, etc.)
  • Replenishment rules aimed at ensuring picking thresholds and stock rotation
  • Real-time complete visibility of stocks on hand, displayed in the unit of measure most appropriate to the operational context (quantity expressed in pieces, packages or layers to facilitate movements)
  • Support with the most advanced technologies (RF, voice picking) to ensure correctness of movements and to limit stock levels
  • Complete batch traceability during the handling and shipping stages. The item’s characteristics are shown on the EAN128 or SSCC labels and are available for the entire cycle in which the product is in the warehouse, from reception to shipping
  • Management of expiry dates, maturing dates and sell-by dates. Proactive management of these features and adherence to FIFO, LIFO, FEFO and LEFO logics and simultaneity, ensure efficient stock rotation
  • Management of different palletisation schemes (pallets, demi-pallets, layers, etc.)
  • Customized packaging and labelling.
