Nottingham is set to become a genuine rival to the likes of Manchester and London, when it comes to the booming UK technology sector, with the launch of an enterprise tech hub next month.
Called Accelerate Nottingham, this hub will be entirely focused on the needs of growing tech companies in the city, providing them with meeting rooms, as well as office and desk space. The intention is to create an atmosphere in which these companies feel able to collaborate with one another and exchange ideas.
The hub will be located on Wollaton Street, within an office block, with refurbishments aimed at enhancing the inside of this space currently being carried out. Among the improvements being made are the replacing of the partitioned offices and reception on the ground floor with open plan space containing relaxed meeting areas and a café. In addition to this, office and desk space at affordable rates will be featured on the first floor.
This Nottingham tech centre represents the latest such hub that Accelerate Places has launched. This company has built a reputation for creating environments in which new technology firms can thrive.
Mark Sanders, the man behind it, told the Nottingham Post that:
“We know from our own experience that ambitious, tech-enabled businesses have rhythms and requirements which are difficult to satisfy in more traditional working environments and Accelerate Nottingham is specifically designed to meet those needs.”
