Microsoft makes millions of e-books available for free

FOCUS ON: Microsoft, ebooks,

eBook Article Image

A free giveaway has become something of a tradition for Microsoft, but the tech giant has truly surpassed itself this year by making a larger collection of key materials available for free download than at any time in the past.

The company is making a point of emphasising that this giveaway of e-books is significantly bigger than any it has offered before, and given that it consists of millions of free downloads, this seems indisputable. Considering the scale of the material it is providing at no cost, it seems equally indisputable that there will be something of real use and value to virtually all organisations within it – making it exciting news for the enterprise customers of Microsoft located around the world.

Of the e-books contained within this giveaway, the vast majority are connected directly with the various products offered by the software firm. Those companies that choose to take advantage and grab a look at what is available for them to download will find e-books featuring information on how to complete various tasks, details on product security, guides to the installation of different Microsoft solutions, e-books featuring advice on how to resolve any problems that might occur with a particular product, and some tricks and tips for ensuring smooth installation and deployment of a particular product.

Among those products and services provided by Microsoft that have relevant e-books available for download are Cloud, SQL, Exchange Server, System Centre, Dynamics CRM, PowerShell, SharePoint 2016, SharePoint 2013, Office 2013, Power BI, Office 365, Office 2016, Azure, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. However, this is only really scratching the surface when it comes to the areas covered in this giveaway, so it is not hard to see how most organisations will find it of real use to them.

Another aspect of the free release that makes it better than those previously offered by Microsoft is the decision of the company to supply pictures and screenshot with every single one of the e-books this time around. This should render the process of grasping the information contained within them an awful lot simpler for those studying them.

In the blog he posted to confirm their availability, the Director of Sales Excellence at Microsoft, Eric Ligman, said:

“So, this year I decided to streamline the list to make it easier to get to the e-books you want. You will now find a simple list, organised by category, with the download links in the Format column so you can choose which format you want to download.”

There are absolutely no limits to the number of e-books an organisation or individual can download during the time that they are available for free.

We are sure that most businesses will find something really useful for them within this e-book giveaway. At the same time, we are just as confident that most will find at least one of the solutions we offer equally useful, so contact WM Reply by telephone or email to get details.
