A leading footwear industry player has transformed its supply chain management by implementing a Modern Data Platform, centralizing heterogeneous data sources, and improving the quality and availability of information. This project created an automated environment that offers complete control over supply chain activities, enabling more informed and effective decisions.
The client faced several data management challenges, including heterogeneous data sources, inconsistent or nonexistent reporting, and a lack of data governance. Manual activities were time-consuming and of low added value, limiting the ability to make quick and informed decisions. Reporting was fragmented and often managed through tools outside the Business Intelligence domain, reducing overall efficiency.
The proposed solution involved creating a centralized Data Warehouse capable of consolidating data from multiple sources, including ERP, PLM, and traceability systems supporting procurement.
Reporting was automated and centralized using Microsoft PowerBI, improving data governance and enabling Self Service BI capabilities.
The project involved all areas of the Supply Chain: procurement, samples, production, logistics, and delivery. Through the AI component, it became possible to more accurately estimate the variables regulating production forecasting, making the solution more flexible and precise.
Advanced technologies such as ODI, Oracle databases, Oracle Data Science (AI) and Microsoft Power BI were used.
This solution has many benefits:
A single source of truth for all business information, eliminating discrepancies and improving data quality.
Operational and managerial dashboards, with drill-down functionality and mobile app reporting.
Increased operational efficiency through the reengineering of time-consuming processes.
Empowering business users with flexible and intuitive analysis tools, reducing dependence on IT.
