Orchestrating Intelligence: AI Workflows with Oracle MicroTx for Operational Support and Process Automation

Technology Data Reply is experimenting with Oracle Transaction Manager for Microservices Workflow (MicroTx Workflow), a cloud-native orchestration engine that combines deterministic tasks and AI agents to transform complex support requests into structured, governed, and traceable resolution proposals

Scenario

In the day-to-day operations of modern data platforms, managing incidents across pipelines, transformations, and interdependent jobs is one of the most critical challenges — not just identifying the root cause, but quickly reconstructing the operational context, gathering the necessary evidence, and defining next steps in a consistent and repeatable way.

The same principle applies to high-variability business processes, such as insurance claims management, where frequent exceptions and compliance requirements demand coordination across heterogeneous systems and diverse areas of expertise.

In both cases, the value of AI increases significantly when it does not act as an isolated assistant, but is embedded within an orchestrated workflow: a structured process in which deterministic automation and intelligent agents collaborate under a centralized control plane.

Benefits

Adopting an orchestrated approach with MicroTx Workflow has delivered concrete results across multiple dimensions:

  • Standardization of the diagnostic process, reducing reliance on individual expertise and manual errors in evidence collection;

  • Traceability and auditability of decisions, with governance integrated directly into the workflow through operational and compliance guardrails;

  • Multi-context scalability, with the same flow reusable across different scenarios without depending on a single alerting source;

  • Preservation of human control (human-in-the-loop), where the orchestrator suggests actions but the operator retains decision-making responsibility;

  • Enterprise integration, with connectors to SQL databases, Git repositories, core systems, and communication channels.

Solution

Technology Data Reply designed and tested two distinct application scenarios on MicroTx Workflow.

In the first use case — data pipeline incident diagnostics — the workflow is triggered by a plain-text description of a problem and articulates the process into complementary phases. Static tasks automatically retrieve relevant logs from telemetry systems and object definitions from Git repositories, ensuring a consistent baseline of evidence. Agentic components then interpret the collected logs, identify error patterns and probable root causes, and produce a step-by-step operational checklist that the operator can follow to reach resolution. The quality of the generated checklists is measured against a dataset of previously resolved incidents, evaluating alignment with the expected solution, completeness of steps, and operational usability.

In the second use case — insurance claims automation — the orchestrator acts as a control plane coordinating specialized agents:

  • Document Agent for extracting key information from text (policy number, license plate, incident description),

  • Computer Vision Agent for estimating damage from images,

  • Core System Agent for verifying coverage in internal systems

  • Communication Agent for automated customer response.

The process starts from communications stored in an SQL database and concludes either with an automated pre-assessment of the claim or, in the presence of anomalies or high damage values, with escalation to a human operator accompanied by a complete dossier. Integrated guardrails control data access according to the principle of least privilege, validate LLM-extracted information through cross-checks with internal systems, and apply confidence thresholds to prevent automated progression when data is ambiguous.
