Falsified and substandard medicines continue to pose a serious public health risk in low and middle-income countries (LMICs), with the World Health Organization estimating that 1 in 10 medical products in these regions are either fake or below standard. This global challenge highlights the urgent need for robust medicine traceability and verification systems to strengthen public safety and build resilient health supply chains.
