Glue Reply’s project with the Home Office shortlisted as a finalist in the UK IT Industry awards

The UK IT Industry Awards are the largest and most well-known event in the technology industry calendar. Managed by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT and Computing , the awards enjoy a level of professionalism and industry knowledge not seen at other shows.

Glue Reply has been shortlisted under the category of ‘Best Security, Defence or Law Enforcement IT Project of the Year’. The recognition is to be awarded to a security, defence or law enforcement organisation for the most outstanding IT project. The category focuses on organisations engaged in security, defence or law enforcement such as police forces, military establishments, law enforcement agencies and associated technology providers.

Glue Reply partnered with Home Office and Policing colleagues to deliver one of the first steps in replacing the legacy Police National Computer. We were challenged to provide a way for Police Officers to search over 60 million driving licences at the roadside from any device. The new app needed to provide up-to-date driver information, current photos and easy search methods, delivered in only nine months.

"Using our cross-functional Product Delivery team led detailed user research and prototyping to design an easy-to-use product that delivered the critical data. In addition, our development team built and tested a highly secure, scalable solution within the timescales. Since its launch, the LEDS Drivers application has become one of the most in-demand tools in UK Policing. It is now easier to correctly identify Drivers, saving hundreds of hours of Policing time per month." Goutham Shrikrishna, Associate Partner at Glue Reply

IS THIS THE MOMENT FOR DATA AS A SERVICE?

Data as a Service (DaaS) is not a new concept, people have been liberally using the term for a number of years. However, the common problem is the lack of holistic consideration that is made in the interpretation of the term. If you do a quick search on the internet, you’ll come up across a myriad of definitions and explanations without a great deal of consistency.
