French Weather Information Website

For many years, the client has relied on Wizards Reply as a technology partner, providing the technical team responsible for the development and operation of its weather platform.

The platform delivers real-time weather bulletins, air quality, pollen data, and alerts such as floods or weather warnings, organized by locations (cities, departments, regions, territories, districts). It aims to provide an accessible, responsive, and high-performance experience for both desktop and mobile users.

Challenges

We overcome several challenges :

  • Integrating a Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) architecture with multiple APIs, including the client’s internal APIs and third-party weather providers.

  • Complying with the RGAA (French Public sector Accessibility Referential) to ensure the platform is fully accessible.

  • Delivering a high-performance website to minimize waiting time for users.

  • Allocating time to rapidly develop new features, whether planned or emerging.

Solutions

We implemented a SvelteKit-based frontend and a NestJS Backend-for-Frontend (BFF) connected to the client’s weather providers APIs. The platform aligns with the client’s refreshed design system and is deployed across their digital ecosystem.

A production-ready release was delivered in just four months, followed by continuous improvement through incremental feature releases, ongoing for the last four years. The solution ensures accessibility compliance, performance, and scalability while allowing rapid feature development.

Results and value added

Daily visits increased ×10 between June 2022 and March 2026.
Accessibility and performance objectives were fully achieved, with the platform achieving the best RGAA compliance in the ecosystem.
The platform gained strong visibility and engagement thanks to its responsive, intuitive design and comprehensive data coverage.
