THE CHALLENGE

From fragmented trend insights to continuous strategy and innovation opportunities.

The scenario

Trend intelligence needed to become a consistent, organization-wide capability, turning scattered signals into actionable insights.

At our client, a leading life sciences company, trend identification was not yet embedded as a systematic capability across the organization, limiting its ability to consistently inform innovation in response to pressing global challenges such as population growth and aging, food scarcity, and the increasing prevalence of disease. Insights across health, food production, and nutrition were generated inconsistently, making them difficult to scale across divisions and translate into clear strategic priorities for research and product development.

Any solution therefore needed to combine analytical depth with usability, while demonstrating clear value to users and securing senior stakeholder buy-in to drive adoption.

The solution

From scattered signals to a living, organization-wide trend intelligence system

TD Reply developed a global Digital Trend Radar that enabled the company to remain competitive in a fast-changing environment by making trend intelligence accessible across the organization.

We started by aligning stakeholders across divisions on requirements, success criteria, and use cases, ensuring the solution was relevant, actionable, and built for adoption from the outset. Based on this, we developed a comprehensive trend universe, identifying over 200 trends using proprietary discovery methods and large-scale external data sources.

To ensure business relevance, trends were prioritized through a combination of quantitative signals (SONAR data) and cross-divisional expert evaluation of impact. The results were structured into a clear and usable framework: from Mega Trends to Trend Areas, individual trends, and concrete use cases. This guaranteed intuitive navigation and strategic application.

An automated monitoring setup, combined with a defined operating model and a dedicated dashboard interface, ensured that trend insights remain continuously updated, accessible, and embedded into ongoing strategy and innovation processes.

The technology behind It
