The question many organizations are asking is this: are the artificial intelligence systems we already have in production compliant with the AI Act?
THE CHALLENGE
New standard, systems already in production
The AI Act is now a reality and introduces concrete obligations for those who develop, distribute, or use artificial intelligence systems. The main challenge is that many systems are already in production, created before the introduction of the regulation.
For advisory teams, assessing the compliance of a system requires analyzing code, regulatory requirements, and possible gaps, article by article. It is a complex, lengthy, and difficult-to-standardize activity.
The risk is arriving unprepared for deadlines, without a clear view of the compliance status and without the necessary time to intervene. Therefore, a tool is needed that can accelerate the analysis, reduce manual work, and quickly provide a structured assessment of existing systems.
THE SCENARIO
A regulatory framework that cannot be ignored
The AI Act is the first regulation in the world that comprehensively governs the development and use of artificial intelligence systems. Approved by the European Parliament, it applies to anyone who develops, distributes, or uses AI systems in the European market, regardless of where they are based.
The regulation introduces a set of obligations based on the risk level of artificial intelligence systems. It becomes essential for organizations to assess their AI systems and understand which requirements must be met.
The obligations mainly concern:
The classification of the risk level of AI systems used or distributed.
Compliance with technical requirements on transparency, data quality, robustness, and human oversight.
The ability to demonstrate compliance through verifiable and traceable documentation.

solution
AI Act Governance Accelerator: reading the code through the lens of the regulation
To address these needs, we have designed and developed the AI Governance Accelerator, a tool that analyzes the content of a repository, compares what it finds with the obligations of the AI Act, and provides a structured and reliable assessment to support advisory teams.
The system combines two complementary approaches. One part of the analysis is deterministic: the tool performs static checks on the code and documentation present in the repository, looking for specific patterns related to the verifiable articles of the regulation. Where the structure of the code is insufficient to draw certain conclusions, an agentic component comes into play, capable of interpreting the context and signaling areas of concern that require human evaluation.
The tool is designed to operate entirely within the client's infrastructure, without the analyzed code needing to leave the corporate environment.
The result of the analysis directly feeds into a configurable checklist, built on the experience of the advisors and designed to structure the internal evaluation process. The tool automatically compiles the verifiable items, flags those that require manual review, and produces a clear report on what is covered, what is partial, and what remains outside the scope of the automated analysis.
RESULTS
A faster, more structured, and reliable analysis process
Thanks to the introduction of the AI Governance Accelerator in the advisory process, the compliance analysis of AI systems becomes more structured, scalable, and manageable. Among the main results achieved:
