The drafting of a Functional Analysis (AFU) document is the result of an articulated process that involves multiple actors and iterative phases. Normally, the flow follows a standard pattern: business users independently draft a Business Requirements (BR) document, which is then analyzed by the Data Management team and, net of any clarifications, the information is collected in an AFU document in Word format.

This approach, although consolidated, has some critical issues:

  • Fragmented communication between users and Data Management, with continuous exchanges.

  • Manual, repetitive process, which takes time to review and formalize requirements.

  • Risk of incomplete information, which may result in delays and subsequent corrections.

To overcome these difficulties, a more fluid and intelligent approach is needed, able to optimize the collection of requirements and the production of the AFU document.

Afu Assistant is the Target Reply solution to support functional analysts, automating the entire process of drafting the Functional Analysis (AFU). Thanks to the use of advanced language models (Large Language Models), the system analyzes the Business Requirements received in input, both in text format and as a document, and proposes a series of targeted questions to deepen the functional requirements.

These questions, created to fill any gaps, allow information to be collected more quickly and effectively, reducing the risk of errors or misunderstandings. At the end of the process, Afu Assistant automatically generates a structured and complete Functional Analysis document, ready to be shared with the teams involved and offers the possibility to make changes or add new useful information.
