    AI Image Process Automation Tool - Demo

    FOCUS ON: artificial intelligence,

    Net Reply UK developed an AI Image Process Automation Tool, that applies visual pattern recognition, to automate a variety of tasks. In our previous blog, we introduced the tool, its capabilities and applications.

    We will now cover an example of a practical use case to provide you with food-for-thought.


    Example

    This example shows how our tool can be used to manage a network device inventory. Specifically, we extract the Mac Addresses and Serial Numbers from the labels affixed to the routers.

    In this article we will be using the mobile UI, but our application supports both desktop, mobile, and API interfaces for supplying and visualising data. On the mobile app you will:

    • Select the type of information you want to extract from the image. Currently it reads both the barcode and text from the labels. For this example, we are selecting the option to capture text.
    • Choose the image you want to extract the information from. You can do this by taking a picture or selecting a pre-existing image.
    • Fill in the reference field, this will later be used to save, identify, and retrieve the image.
    • Optionally fill the target label field. By filling in the ‘Target Label’ field with part of the MAC address or Serial Number, the tool will search for routers with labels containing the search string.
    • Click on ‘Submit’ and wait for the AI model to do its magic: The routers with labels matching the search string will be highlighted on the results image in a green box (as shown in image 6). The rest of the labels are highlighted in red.
    • Meta data: The tool will display the processing time and list all labels in the image with the detected text. In this example the MAC and Serial Number of the routers are detected.
    • Saving the result: If you are satisfied with the result, you can save it for later access, if not you can discard it and take a new picture.

    In the example you can see how our AI Image Process Automation Tool can be used to drastically reduce the time spent when gathering information about network devices. Since doing this process manually is slow and error prone, our solution provides huge savings in manual labour cost and reduces mistakes.
