Isolated Testing

Concept Reply decouples your tests from external system dependencies. With tailored simulations, teams can test independently, on their own schedule, and with full control over all test data.

Decouple dependencies with custom simulations , so your team sets the pace instead of waiting for it.

Various teams,
an application

In agile projects, multiple teams often work in parallel on the same application. Each team is responsible for its own area, but what it builds relies on data and supplies from other systems. These dependencies are technically intentional. Thus, software reflects real business processes.

Since no one wants to block an ongoing project indefinitely, the obvious happens: testing phases get postponed, scenarios are simplified, and coverage decreases.

Teams invest capacity in coordination instead of quality, testing windows become bottlenecks, and the question "Can we test this yet?" becomes a recurring topic in sprint reviews. In the end, it’s not the test that gets postponed, but the entire schedule.

No waiting times thanks to isolated tests

With isolated testing, Concept Reply enables companies to overcome exactly these structural barriers. The system is decoupled from external dependencies: Instead of addressing real subsystems, tailored simulations take on their role. The team retains full control over all input and output data.

In everyday terms, this means: Each team tests according to its own schedule, without having to wait for neighboring systems. Test data is precisely tailored to the respective test case, reproducible, and adjustable in minutes. What was previously hardly possible becomes the standard tool: error cases, timeouts, inconsistent responses can be specifically simulated because the team defines the test environment itself.

Proven technology, configured for specific projects

Our simulations are based on WireMock, a proven open-source framework for service virtualization. This allows for the replication of all relevant communication paths: classic request-response patterns as well as delayed message flows. Each test driver reflects the real behavior of its surrounding system, not only the normal case but also error messages, delayed responses, and unexpected states.

Test data can either be generated in advance as a fixed base or dynamically adjusted per test case. The entire testing infrastructure is embedded in the existing build pipelines and automatically alerts when the communication behavior of a subsystem changes unexpectedly.

The advantages at a glance

Isolated testing not only changes the testing methodology but also the functionality of the entire project.

Start with a Pilot: a subsystem, a test driver, initial results in days.
