Reply! Chairman and CEO Selected as One of Silicon Valley’s 40 Under 40
Honor Reflects Payam Zamani’s Achievements as One of the People to Watch
Walnut Creek, CA – October 6, 2006 – Reply!, Inc. (www.reply.com), today announced that the company's Chairman and CEO, Payam Zamani, has been included in the October 6, 2006 edition of the Silicon Valley Business Journal's annual list of '40 Under 40 -- People You Should Know in Silicon Valley's Business Community'. Mr. Zamani is recognized not only for his continued success in the boardroom, but together with his wife, ongoing philanthropic efforts focused on education.
As Chairman and CEO of Reply!, Zamani has steadily lead the growth of the company since its inception in late 2001, increasing revenues at a rate of more than 50% year-over-year over the past four years. Today, Reply! is recognized as a leading provider of online services for consumers in the residential real estate and automotive industries. Just as Zamani helped transform the online automotive retailing industry starting in 1994 with his first company, Autoweb.com, he is today leading efforts in changing the way people access information and decision making tools when in the market to buy or sell a home. With the recent launch of the first-ever-on-the-Internet capability -- Unsolicited Offers(TM) -- every home in America is up for sale through Reply.com.
A veteran e-commerce entrepreneur, he has successfully started several companies before co- founding, along with Behnam Behrouzi and John Truchard, Reply.com. At the age of 24 he founded Autoweb.com, which pioneered the online car buying industry and became a critical business success before going public and reaching a market cap of $1.2 billion in 1999. Now a U.S. citizen, Zamani escaped from Iran as a teenager after being persecuted for his Baha'i religious beliefs and came to the United States with $75 in his pocket. After working his way through college on jobs in pizza parlors and student house-painting, he graduated from the University of California, Davis and Stanford University's Executive Leadership Program.
A philanthropist and benefactor, Zamani's success goes far beyond executive boardrooms. Together with his wife, and through the Mona Foundation, he has identified the need for girls' education in Africa and is helping transform that need into tangible reality. The current project Zamani and his wife are involved in is the Ruaha Secondary School for Girls in Iringa, Central Tanzania.
